Where is the fingerprint sensor? / Is there an in-display fingerprint sensor on Redmi note 10 pro max?
The the fingerprint sensor on Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is located on the side of the phone just below the volume control.
It’s almost flush with the side of the phone and the aura design is actually quite good on the eyes..
There is an option to set touch or a press as the sensing method so that there won’t be any accidental actuation of the button which might result in locked fingerprint. You can change the sensing method at

Does the phone come with a screen guard and a back cover?
Yes, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max comes with a pre applied screen guard. This screen guard is made of cheap plastic and it is not applied properly.
There is a silicon back cover in the box. It has a frosted looking back and all the cutouts are there. The back cover does not make the phone bulky. It protects the giant camera bump also. When you place the Redmi note 10 Pro Max flat on the floor,camera will not touch the floor if the back cover is applied. There is a flap cover for the charging port on the back cover this can add to the waterproofing of the phone.
Is Redmi note 10 Pro Max Waterproof / dust proof
The pic above is a screenshot from official specifications page of note 10 Pro max. The device is rated IP 53 which means the it is protected against dust but is not completely dust proof. Also the phone is protected against spraying of water but not against splashes of water. This limitation in water resistance is further underlined by the fact that liquid damage is not covered under warranty.
The real question here is can I take my Redmi note 10 Pro max in the rain with confidence? and the answer is a resounding NO. You shouldn’t wash it under tap water either.
Does the phone has a 3.5mm earphone jack
Yes, the phone has a 3.5mm jack for ear phones. It is located at the top of the phone and doubles up as an antenna for FM radio.
Does the phone support reverse charging
Yes, the phone supports Reverse charging. I used a USB C to USB A converter to charge a power bank and it worked.
I decided to take it further by trying to charge a phone with using USB C to USB C cable. And it also worked. Here is the video of a OnePlus 6 being charged by Redmi Note 10 Pro max.
Can I connect a hard disk or a USB pen drive directly to transfer files
I decided to check this functionality with the largest hard drive at my disposal, a Western Digital 2TB hard disk. It took a few seconds but the phone detected the hard disk without any issues. The connection was quicker the second time. So Redmi Note 10 Pro Max should not have any problems detecting and accessing USB pen drives.
What is the SAR value of Redmi Note 10 Pro Max
SAR stands for specific absorption rate. Redmi note 10 pro max has a SAR value of 0.83W/kg for the head and 0.648 W/kg for the body.
What is the battery capacity of this phone
Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is powered by a 5020mAh battery. The battery capacity is same as the previous generation phone but this one being a 120Hz display phone, the capacity might not be sufficient to last as long.
Is there a separate Micro SD slot in Redmi Note 10 Pro Max
This is the sim and the memory card tray of Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. As you can see, there is a separate slot for a micro SD card. You don’t have to forgo a second SIM to accommodate a micro SD card.
Does it have a front camera flash
When phones are fighting to have the best screen to body ratio, front camera flash is a liability. As the screen itself is a good source of light, it can double up as a source of light, obfuscating the front flash.
Is there support for VoLTE and VoWifi
Yes, Redmi Note 10 Pro max supports both voice over LTE and Voice over wifi. It seamlessly switches between these too. But keep in mind that the provider of the SIM card also need to support the technology.
Is there a call recording option
Yes, there is a call recording option on Redmi Note 10 Pro Max.
You can start recording only once the other person takes the call and there is an audible warning that can be heard by both parties saying that the call is being recorded. There is no way to turn off the warning message.
The audio of the recorded call is located in the call register itself. So it won’t show up anywhere in the file system.
What is the type of SIM used in Redmi Note 10 Pro Max
The phone supports dual nano SIM with dual 4G standby.
What is the type of connector and cable in this phone
The phone has a USB c port located at the bottom that can be used for charging and data transfer.
The cable that come with the phone is a USB A to USB C. It’s thick and designed nicely with a touch of red inside the connectors. The cable also supports 33W fast charging.
Does the phone has true dual speakers
Yes, the phone has true dual speakers for reproducing stereo sounds more faithfully. Many phones now a days refrain from adding a second speaker instead opting to use the earpiece as a second speaker when the other one is firing. But not Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, it has true dual speakers and has a good sound quality.
Is this a 5G phone
Nope, Redmi note 10 series is not 5G capable. It supports dual 4G SIM with dual standby.
Does Redmi Note 10 Pro Max has NFC
No, there is no NFC chip on this phone. So in order to connect with other devices you might have to use other technologies.
Is there an FM radio
Yes, but you have to connect a 3.5 jack to the the port on top of the phone to activate the FM functionality.
